Eucalyptus Forest (8 Photos)
Phoneography Challenge: Nature, iPhone 4, no editing: Eucalytpus Forest engulfed in fog on Mount Davidson, the highest peak in San Francisco. It was a beautiful sunny day, but the fragrant Eucalyptus trees created their own foggy and very wet climate zone. It was very beautiful!

The mist draws me. They are definitely my favorites in such a lovely place. Happy Phoneography.
Thank you! Happy Labor Day too!
Oh! My! But I thought San Francisco was misty like that most of the time? When I lived in the Oregon rain-forest it was misty, just like that, most of the time. On the Siuslaw. I visited via Google Earth. Much of the forests are gone now, where I lived, 45 years ago.
That’s sad that your forests are gone! San Francisco is a city built on the Coastal Range so there are actually many micro-climates here. Some parts of the city retain fog a lot, other parts have sunshine and blue skies nearly every day (after any morning fog burns off).
You have chosen and amazing and beautiful place to live.
Thank you! I am a native San Franciscan…fifth generation on my mother’s side.
We’re going to be in San Francisco later this month. Let me know if you’d like to meet for tea (or coffee). We could always take pictures, too. ๐

Yes, that would be fun! You can email me details (juliannevictoria@live.com) so we can coordinate!
I knew this was SF before reading! I’m over in the East Bay where the fog lands on our Eucalyptus covered Albany Hill. Which I now am inspired to explore with my phone. Thanks!
You’re welcome! ๐
Beautiful
Looks very beautiful. great pics
Thanks!
Love these poetic photos! Too beautiful.
A set of cool and kind of lonely/eerie shots, depending on how you look at it ๐
just gorgeous!!!! I don’t mean to be stupid but does it actually smell like eucalyptus there too?
Yes! There are lots of Eucalyptus trees here, and I love it when they scent the fog! Before I moved back, smelling Eucalyptus (essential oils, soap…) always made me think of home.
These are gorgeous! I love the foggy wetness to them! Hard to pick a favorite! Great job ๐
